Learn More About Halo®

HALO® is the first hybrid laser that delivers both ablative and non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing treatments simultaneously. It combines deep dermal rejuvenation with epidermal renewal for a combined synergistic effect in a single treatment. Though most commonly used on the face and neck, HALO® can also treat the hands, arms, and legs.

Our physicians skillfully customize the treatment to meet your specific needs. And with personalized HALO® laser resurfacing, our physicians can perform lighter to more intense treatments that fit perfectly within your schedule.

During your consultation, we’ll instruct you on how to prepare for your HALO® treatment. You should avoid sun exposure, tanning, waxing, tweezing, or hair removal creams on the treatment area for two weeks before. One week before your treatment, you may need to stop using skincare products with certain ingredients like retinol or benzoyl peroxide. Your physician may prescribe medications before the appointment to prepare your skin. 

At your appointment, we’ll apply a topical anesthetic cream 30-60 minutes before starting your treatment to ensure your comfort. Your provider will then move the HALO® handpiece over your treatment area, which takes 15-30 minutes. Most patients experience a slight warming sensation during treatment with very little, if any, discomfort.

With HALO®, you can expect fast, effective results. Initial results are seen five to seven days after a HALO® treatment, and the skin will continue to improve over time as the collagen regeneration phase continues in the deeper layers of the skin for several months. Your HALO® glow can last as long as one or two years. 

Depending on the condition being addressed and treatment intensity, your physician may recommend either a single HALO® treatment or multiple to achieve the best results. We also offer a variety of other skin rejuvenating treatments to meet your specific goals, including the popular Fraxel® Dual Laser. For a lighter laser option with less recovery, we may recommend Clear + Brilliant.

After your HALO® treatment, the treated skin will be pink and swollen for 24-36 hours and then may begin to peel lightly. You can use ice packs to minimize swelling and discomfort. After two or three days, the skin develops a “bronzed” appearance, which gently flakes off for most patients five to six days after treatment.

HALO® is safe and effective for all skin tones and is customizable to address a wide range of conditions. This makes it an ideal skin rejuvenation treatment for many patients seeking healthier, more vibrant skin.
