Forever Young BBL™ is a type of BroadBand Light (BBL) technology. Unlike a laser, which uses a single wavelength, this treatment uses wavelengths of visible and infrared light that act deep in the skin. Our board-certified dermatologists often recommend this treatment to address the following:

Forever Young BBL™ affects your skin in several ways. First, it targets red and brown pigments such as spider veins and sun spots. The pulses of light break apart these pigments, allowing your body to remove them. While lasers may treat brown or red pigmentation, a single wavelength cannot treat both. 

Second, it changes gene expression in the cells deep in your dermis, in the layers where new skin cells are made. As a result, the skin cells reaching the surface look healthier and more youthful. Only Forever Young BBL™ has this powerful ability to change how your skin acts on a cellular level, causing it to make more fresh, healthy cells.

You will feel pulses of heat as the light energy enters your skin. Most people do not experience any discomfort. Your dermatologist will move the handheld device over your skin and may make several passes over each area depending on your needs. Forever Young BBL™ is highly customizable, letting it treat your unique concerns. Treatment can take up to half an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Most people will need between one and four Forever Young BBL™ treatments to achieve their desired results. You will see improvements within a week or two as new, healthy skin cells come to the surface and replace old, damaged ones. Your skin will also either shed or absorb the remnants of damaged pigments to give you an even skin tone.

While you will see results after one Forever Young BBL™ session, you will achieve maximum results with regular use. How many treatments you need depends on your goals, the severity of your skin concerns, and your skin’s response. Over time, you will see your skin’s surface look smoother and brighter. Fine lines and textural issues improve, and pigmentation problems disappear.

The most common effect after treatment is redness that lasts up to a few hours. Your skin may also feel sensitive. You can apply makeup immediately. No downtime is required; you can return to your usual activities immediately. Your dermatologist can recommend skincare products to protect your skin and boost your results. 

Your skin will be unusually sensitive to sun damage for several weeks after treatment, so use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Continuing to use sun protection will help your results last longer.

Healthy adults with light to medium skin tones are typically good candidates for Forever Young BBL™. This non-invasive treatment can rejuvenate the skin of all ages, ranging from young people looking for a way to prevent signs of aging to older individuals who want to turn back the clock.
