BBL HERO™ with Forever Body™ is the next generation of BroadBand Light treatments. The High Energy Rapid Output (HERO™) quickly treats large areas with light energy. Pulsed light targets pigment-specific concerns like sun damage, age spots, and even rosacea while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. 

Pigment in your skin absorbs the light and breaks down into smaller particles, which the body filters out through a natural healing process. The heat of the light also causes superficial blood vessels to close. Finally, this heat triggers a healing response that increases collagen production, which helps make the skin smoother and firmer.

We often recommend BBL® HERO™ for concerns such as:

Unlike ablative laser treatments, BBL® HERO™ doesn’t cause flaking or peeling, so there’s little downtime while you still achieve fantastic results with little to no discomfort. BBL HERO™ delivers light bursts at 4x the speed and 3x the power with 2x the cooling for a fast, effective, all-over skin rejuvenation that leaves your skin tone and texture even and breathtakingly beautiful.

The advanced BBL® HERO™ platform includes innovative cooling technology to keep your skin comfortable during the treatment. We may also apply a topical numbing cream or cooling gel for additional comfort. To perform the procedure, your Capital Laser & Skin Care provider will glide the handheld device over your skin as it emits short bursts of light. You’ll likely feel warmth or a snapping sensation but little to no discomfort. A typical BBL® HERO™ facial treatment takes half an hour or less. 

Our dermatologists may also recommend combining BBL® HERO™ with other treatments, such as the MOXI™ laser, for even more comprehensive benefits. BroadBand Light is often most effective for pigment concerns, while a laser treatment helps improve skin texture and tone.

Patients often notice that their complexion is brighter and more even within days of their first BBL® HERO™ treatment. These results continue to improve in the coming weeks as your body flushes out broken-down pigment, erasing dark spots and hyperpigmentation. We may recommend a series of treatments for an optimal outcome. Most patients see the best results after a few months and two or more sessions. Conditions like rosacea or significant sun damage may require more treatments.

Once you achieve your desired results, these will be long-lasting. We typically recommend an annual maintenance treatment to preserve your healthier, happier complexion. Using sunscreen and high-quality skincare products is essential for maintaining your results.

As a gentler alternative to laser skin resurfacing, BBL® HERO™ involves minimal discomfort and downtime. Most people resume their usual activities immediately after the treatment. However, your skin may appear pink for a few hours, similar to a sunburn. You can use cold compresses if needed to alleviate discomfort. 

We’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions, such as keeping your skin moisturized, avoiding harsh products like acids, and when you can resume your normal routine. It’s essential to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen while your skin heals, as it will be more sensitive during this time.

Most people looking for a gentle, noninvasive skin rejuvenation treatment are eligible for BBL® HERO™. It’s often beneficial for hyperpigmentation, dark spots, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. Thanks to its innovative cooling system, BBL® HERO™ can treat most skin types and tones. It is typically safe for Fitzpatrick types 1-5, though it may be most effective for those with lighter skin. We may recommend alternatives like chemical peels or microneedling for patients with darker skin tones.
