Daxxify™ is an injectable anti-aging treatment that the FDA recently approved for use on facial wrinkles. Like Botox®, Daxxify™ is a neurotoxin made of botulinum type A. Botox® is simply a well-known brand name of many botulinum neurotoxins, including Xeomin®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®.

When strategically injected into the face, these neurotoxins temporarily block signals between the nerves and muscles, paralyzing the muscles and preventing contractions. Relaxing these facial muscles can help smooth out dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines and crow’s feet. 

One of the primary differences between Daxxify™ and its more established competitors like Botox® is the formula’s stabilizers. While other neurotoxin brands use a protein that’s found in human blood as a stabilizer, Daxxify™ uses a peptide. This makes it the first vegan neuromodulator free of any human or animal products. 

Daxxify’s™ unique formula also provides increased benefits. In clinical studies, Daxxify™ results are shown to last almost twice as long as competitors like Botox®, with some patients enjoying diminished wrinkles for six months or more.

Injectable neuromodulators are a quick, convenient treatment that can fit into even the busiest schedule. Using a small needle, one of our dermatologists will make multiple injections of Daxxify™ based on your unique treatment plan. You can expect to feel a pinch with each injection, but the procedure typically isn’t painful. Your treatment may take as little as 10-15 minutes.

You may experience some mild side effects, like minor swelling or bruising at the injection site, but these are minimal and will quickly subside. 

Neuromodulators like Daxxify™ are a safe, effective treatment option for most adults looking to reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate their appearance. We may not recommend Daxxify™ if you’re pregnant or nursing. Candidates for other neurotoxins like Botox® are most likely ideal candidates for Daxxify™ also, and Daxxify™ may be especially beneficial for patients who are no longer seeing optimal results with Botox®.
