Learn More About Exilis Elite™

If your skin has become looser with age, the culprit is loss of collagen. This structural protein gives skin its strength and support. When it disappears, the skin has less support and starts to sag. Exilis Elite™ offers a non-invasive way to address this skin laxity in areas including:

  • Face
  • Jowls
  • Neck
  • Arms
  • Thighs
  • Abdomen

Exilis Elite™ uses radiofrequency energy that travels harmlessly through the skin and heats the deeper layers of the dermis. Collagen fibers run through this layer, and the RF energy causes them to contract, tightening your skin. This tightening causes the immediate effects of treatment. 

Cells in this layer also produce collagen, and the RF energy stimulates them to increase the amount of collagen they make. This new collagen is added to your skin’s structural support, making it tighter and smoother. This process takes several months, leading to long-term results over time.

Most people report that the Exilis Elite™ experience is comfortable, with comparisons to a hot stone massage. The system has a small handpiece for areas like the neck and a larger one for areas like the abdomen or thighs. It raises and lowers the temperature in cycles to protect your skin. 

Treatment typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treated area. As a result, Exilis Elite™ fits into almost any schedule and avoids time off from work or your busy routine. It’s the easiest, most convenient way to firm problem areas and improve your contours.

You’ll usually need a series of treatments to achieve your desired results. After four to six sessions, most people will see the tighter skin they want. You may see improved firmness after one or two treatments as the collagen fibers tighten. Full results will develop over the next several months as your cells produce more collagen.

Once they’ve developed, your Exilis Elite™ results can last up to two years. Wearing sunscreen and avoiding sun exposure will help your results last longer. Your dermatologist will work with you to develop a maintenance treatment schedule that keeps your skin firm and smooth.

Because Exilis Elite™ is non-invasive, there is no downtime, and you can return to your usual routine immediately. Your skin may look flushed or red for a few hours, but this should not limit your activities. You can exercise or perform your usual work tasks without delay. Avoid sun exposure while your skin is still red.

Almost all healthy adults can have Exilis Elite™ treatment. The best candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity. If you have significant loose skin, you may need a different procedure. Candidates should have reasonable expectations and understand the risks and benefits of this treatment. If necessary, we can recommend alternative skin tightening treatments like Sofwave™ or Ultherapy®.

RF energy is safe on all skin tones and can be used almost anywhere you have loose skin. However, Exilis Elite™ is not right for everyone. You should not have this treatment if you have certain medical or skin conditions.
